Get out of Moon Guard

9 Dec

So Blizzard just announced free server transfers off of Moon Guard. Great. The problem? They’re sending folks to Farstriders, a relatively dead world devoid of oxygen and life.

The Last time Blizzard did this, just about the only thing they accomplished was to effect the transfer of unwanted alts off of Moon Guard.  No discernable effect was noticed in regards to login times, queues, or overall server lagtasticness.

From the comments in the realm forums, it looks like this is what’s happening again. Apparently, no one wants to go to Farstriders.

Actually the last time that happened, my entire guild moved all of their characters from Moon Guard to Wyrmrest Accord, and we’ve been thriving ever since. Truth be told, we were sick of all the grievers and bad RPers. Not that WRA is perfect but it seems a lot better. And I’ve met many people who had moved from MG and felt the same way.

So…hopefully this will mean that Farstrider will get an influx of RPers who are sick of MG and maybe it’ll become a good RP server again. 🙂

@Faeldray – that’s a really positive way to look at it and I hope the moves will spur some good effects for *both* servers.

I moved to Farstriders when it was an option to help clear out Cenarion Circle realm, and have loved it ever since.
People complain that Farstriders in the backwater armpit of realms, being last and progression or population, or what have you… but there is a thriving RP community there, and it’s pretty close-knit who prefers playing over “Achievementing”. So, it all comes down to playstyle preferences. 🙂
    Farstriders Forever!

@ Maebius – I guess I’ll see you around then – I moved several toons over to Farstriders as well. My “mains” are still on MG – but with my current schedule and time constraints it’s just not possible for me to wait 45 minutes for the Q to clear up. So far I like what I see. There is significantly less lag and the questing areas are (comparably) not anywhere near as flooded.
